Detention and Bail
We provide urgent legal assistance to individuals detained under UK immigration powers, helping them secure release by liaising with the Home Office, though bail applications and/or judicial review applications against removal directions. Our expertise covers all stages of the detention process.
Key Stages and Timescales:
- Initial Assessment (1-2 days): Reviewing detention grounds and identifying immediate course of actions and advising our clients accordingly.
- Communicating with Home Office and making submissions (1 week):
- Bail Application and Hearing (1-4 weeks): Gathering supporting evidence (sureties, accommodation proof), and drafting bail submissions
- Judicial Review Applications: We prepare and submit urgent judicial review applications challenging removals directions. Please see the Judicial Review {hyperlink} page for details on the stage of Judicial Reviews and fees involved. Where removals are imminent, judicial review applications can be expedited and decided within 1-2 days.
Our fees
We usually charge fees for dealing with detention and bail matters on time-spent basis. For details on this, please visits our Fees {hyperlink} page.
